Black Bear Bistro & Brick Oven has 2 separate dining spaces to choose from, as well as a seasonal outdoor patio.

The Bistro

The Bistro upstairs at street level is a charming, cozy, casual space complete with a full bar, two working fireplaces and wonderful views of our beautiful Old Town Main Street. The decor is dedicated to our star, the black bear! Take a look around and see how many black bears you can spot! We also welcome our customers to add to our Wayward Mug club. Bring in your favorite mug or stein and dedicate it to our Mug Wall. We will keep it safe for you and you may use it to partake in our fabulous Virginia beer selection any time you visit. Our 10 seat bar features two TVs, a wide selection of Virginia beer and wine, specialty martinis and a friendly bartender ready to mix up your favorite drink. Or if you choose, we have a number of dining tables – high tops and low tops – for those of you who wish to have a casual meal with family and friends.

The Cellar

The Cellar is located down a flight of stairs. Upon entering you will notice our other “speakeasy” style bar area which can seat up to 15 people and offers the same beverage selections you will find upstairs. Further inspection will lead you into our two cellar dining rooms. Featuring a cozy working fireplace and granite sandblasted etchings from Main Street Warrenton circa 1800 and today, the Warrenton room is a charming and flexible entertainment area which typically seats 25 guests comfortably, and can easily be reconfigured for private parties. The adjacent Black Horse room also features a working fireplace, two large picture windows and a glass door which leads out onto our patio. This charming room can also seat 25 guests comfortably, and combined with the Warrenton room, can accommodate private parties or events of up to 50 guests.

The Patio

Our Patio is open seasonally and features lovely wrought iron tables and chairs covered with umbrellas for comfortable dining alfresco. Enjoy your meal while listening to our gurgling fountain. And bring your four-legged friends. Our patio is pet friendly! Smoking is allowed only in the patio area.

Brick Oven at Black Bear

We are proud to have expanded our business to now include the Brick Oven at Black Bear! This is our wood fired pizzeria located in the lower level of the Bistro. Come on down and get a taste of Neopolitan pizza.
